About

We make glasses out of a small workshop in Edinburgh, by hand, out of hemp.

Sustainability and good design are what we're all about. When we discovered hemp 6 years ago we fell in love with the material, especially its history. Once a popular material for rope, fuel, food and clothing, our society slowly abandoned it in favour of cotton and oil-based plastics.

But hemp is amazing. It needs hardly any water to grow, it can grow on bad soil, and it doesn't need pesticides. It's an incredibly sustainable crop with great qualities, so we decided to bring it back in a different way. Hemp isn't the easiest material to make frames with, but we think the benefits are worth the effort.

The frames are strong and light, they don't use fossil fuels, and once complete the material looks like nothing else.
